A few days ago, I found the last of the great !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! After that generation, the fuel crisis made the Eldorado get smaller and slower and far less cool. The same sad story befell most American cars of the period, including the Ford Mustang. This car, which I found in front of a store that sells red things, is arguably the last of the hot rod Mustangs before the onset of choking fuel and emissions standards. This Mach 1 packed a Ram Air 351 according to the hood, and while I can’t say for sure which of the two available 351s this, it does appear to have the Ram Air option. I can say that for the time, this was a reasonably quick machine, at least in a straight line. After this car came the horrendous Mustang II, which most of you probably prefer simply because it’s rarer and less cliché. There have been many great Mustangs since, but this is the last of the “BC” Mustangs, if you will.

Blast...I had that car. Same color and a 351W in it. I ended up selling it for a loss after some interesting situations and learning a lesson of getting into money/trust issues with friends/family.

That thing was alot of fun to drive and I miss it. The alternator on that car weighed like 50lbs.

Wait, you’re saying this isn’t the last great mustang?

I think they look best in black with silver graphics. Also, the splitter/airdam makes them look so much better.

Honestly, my absolute favorite Mustang.

It would be odd to have the 2bbl 351 under the hood but it was an option.

All I know about what’s under the hood of this car is what it says on the hood, which is “351 Ram Air”.

I love Mustangs. But, I’m almost apologetic to say, I never really liked the 70-73 styling. Please don’t hate me.

I’ve had a ‘67 and have a ‘71 now, and one of the things that people comment on about older Mustangs is how the hood looks so long from the driver’s view. Well, the ‘71 has such a looooong hood it makes the ‘67 feel normal. Holy crap, such a nose on that thing. I was going to get a Mach 1 hood until I found out that they are so much heavier than a stock hood, that they need different hood springs. That car does not need anymore weight on the nose.
